A life saving question

Yesterday, when I was at the dermatologist's office, the physician's assistant I saw told me something surprising. Melanoma (AKA, deadly skin cancer) can sometimes appear on your scalp, often without you even knowing it. How many times do you look at our scalp? Yeah, not often. So, that's why she tells her patients that in between yearly skin checks (guys, if you haven't had a full-body skin check, now's the time!), ask your hair stylist to keep an eye on your scalp for anything unusual while she's doing your hair. Sure, she's not a physician, but she can spot a mole or freckle you aren't aware of, which could prompt you to see a derm and get it checked out!

Not a bad idea, huh?
