OILY HAIR

Oily hair can go from shiny and healthy to lank and greasy in a matter of hours.  The challenges of oily hair not only lie in the proper care but also in your diet.  To keep control of your overly active sebaceous glands, special attention needs to be paid to your daily hair routine and diet choices.
Oily hair is created by a build up of excess oil in the hair.  This oil is sebum, a naturally occurring byproduct that can help those with normal hair maintain a sleeker style.  But for those with oily hair, its a battle to keep it from looking dirty and unkempt.
Shampooing your hair properly is the first line of defense against oily hair.  Balancing shampoos are available and work wonders.  Daily clarifying shampoos are also a great choice.  These shampoos remove all dirt and grime from your hair, it is vital that you do use a good conditioner after these types of shampoo to restore moisture to your hair.  Application of conditioner on fine hair is vital,  the conditioner should only be applied to the length of your hair not on the scalp.
Any one who has eaten a garlic rich meal may know that what we eat is excreted by the skin.  The same goes for oily or fatty diets.  The more oil we put into our bodies, the more oil that will come out.  Keeping your diets low in fats is good for the body and great for oily hair.  In addition to cutting your fats you should increase your water intake.  This will help keep your body and hair healthy and strong.  There is a strong connection between an all around healthy diet and healthy hair.
No one wants to spend all that time styling their hair to have it fall flat within hours due to excess oil.  Oily hair can be calmed and cared for both internally and externally.
