The last of the Wedding tips

We have all had a few--Hair catastrophes.  Bad cut, ugly color and we panic!  We do what we can to hide our hair until it can be fixed.  But when your big day is approaching there is no room for that!  Check out our list of dos and don'ts to get hair prepared without risking a wedding day fiasco.

I DOs
  • Decide on a style before you choose your veil (use the previous blog to help pick a veil)
  • Play with a few styles before you finalize your look
  • Visit your stylist a few months ahead of time to set up a plan to get you gorgeous locks
  • Get a trim and Touch up existing color 2 weeks before the wedding
  • Pack an emergency kit for reception touch ups
  • Think about how your hair style will hold up at an outdoor wedding
  • Match your hairstyle to your gown in degree of formality
  • Consider hair pieces to add volume for fuller styles
  • Plan your special styles for the wedding rehearsal and bridal shower
  • Wear a button down shirt for your wedding day hair appointment
  • Talk to your stylist about when you should shampoo and condition prior to your wedding day
  • Add some glitter to your hair--be sure to test it out prior to the day
  • Invest in a good haircut!
  • Decide if you are going to remove your veil after the ceremony. Your hair style may need to be adjusted accordingly.
  • DO A PRACTICE UP DO WITH YOUR STYLIST
I DON'T s
  • Don't make color or style changes in the 2 months before the wedding
  • Dye your hair at home
  • Let anyone talk you into the latest style unless you REALLY LOVE it
  • Choose a style that is too structured it will be hard to maintain
  • Go over board on the tendrils. They will look messy later
  • Choose an overly large headpiece you want to be the star not your accessories
  • Use new products on the big day you may be allergic
  • Wash your hair if your stylist prefers it dirty
  • Have your hair done to early...its a long day
  • Use accessories that are too heavy for your style
  • Overload on products
  • Change your mind about your style the day of the wedding
